[Vwdiesel] Jetta just stopped running

I built a primer that I use when working on the fuel system in my VW's out
of a $15.00 2 gallon yard sprayer, I bought a new one from the local garden
center, removed the sprayer handle and replaced it with a SS 1/8" ball valve
then connected it to 3 feet of fuel line, and terminated it with a banjo.
Now when I want to prime my pump, I can fill the sprayer with diesel and
connect the banjo to the pump. Pump up the sprayer two or three times open
the ball valve and fill my pump. I just installed a new pump that never had
fuel in it and it worked like a charm. The ball valve cost more than the
sprayer. Total investment was about $45 dollars. The only additional item I
want to do is eventually put a pressure gauge on it so I don't over pressure
the pump. I can send you some pictures if you are interested
