My scanner died otherwise I'd send you a link to a multi page PDF
According to the Bentley Ch15 Pp106-111 & 200 there should be only 1 coolant
temp sender
1985-88 Jetta (Diesel only)
Cylinder Head Oil Press 1.8 Bar ---Yellow
End of cylinder head Coolant Temp ---Yellow / Red
Oil Filter Flange Oil Press (looks like oil press on cylinder head) 0.3
Bar ---Blue / Black
Glow plug temp sender ---Blue / White
1985-88 Golf used coolant temp at Upper radiator hose fitting front and
center of head
1985-88 Jetta used an oil filter flange mounted temp sender (turbodiesl may
not have this one)
Tach to alt terminal W ---Red / Black
Alt Terminal D+ ---Blue
How much of the AC wiring is intact?
