[Vwdiesel] OT: diesel hatchback suggestions ??

I concur fully in the description of V W automatic transmissions.  I  have 
had three.  None have gone more than 48,000 miles without a major tear  down and 
overhaul.  Two of them were in Jettas and both would quit after  driving for 
a while, stopping at say a traffic light, and then trying to start  again.  
Engine would rev, but no movement.  The only way to do a quick  fix, was shift 
to neutral or park, and then back to drive, and go directly to  the dealer.  
All were under warranty.  The last was a 99.  If you  did not go to the dealer, 
the transmission would quit completely in about 5,000  miles.  Now the 5 and 6 
speeds on the other hand are wonderful.  No  problems at all.  The current 
one has 125,000 (a 2006) the three previous  had over 200,000 thousand with no 
problems.  These cars drive approximately  2,000 miles each week.
