[Vwdiesel] crank bolt

I've used the headbolts over on gas engines with no problems. However, the
compression is 8.5:1, not the 16:1 or so of a diesel. I've only reused them
once on a diesel rabbit, with no problems. Anyone else? I'm a little more
skeptical on the diesels.

As for the crank seal, there are two ways to do it. A puller, in two
different styles, or careful use of drywall screws. I've used both, prefer
the puller. You can get a generic one at nearly any tool store. It is shaped
a lot like a flat mini pick axe. The trick if you decide to use drywall
screws is to carefully center them, so as not to nick the surround or the
crank. I've done this in a pinch, and patience is the key.
