  Nope, R12 still.  Have only added the slightes bit of freon to it once 
since 
I repaired it several years ago.  Feels like it's due for a few ounces now.  
Had a shop supposedly check it and fill it.  $500 later (EPA had made 
freon less simple to get and play with so...) I brought it home and in less
than an hour had the bad evaporator out of it and a new one ordered along 
with a reciever/dryer.  $150 and 2 1/2 hours with a few new o-rings and it 
was fixed and working great.  :-)
  At certain speeds I can feel it kick in and out if I pay attention but most 

of the time it's just not noticeable.  Power does drop but unless I'm passing 

or trying to accelerate for all it has, I don't notice it. :-)
