Has anyone here had experience or know of a site that may have discussed the
swap of a vw diesel
into a dodge minivan. I have purchased van with manual trans and would like
to mate up the
dodge trans with the vw engine though would consider using the entire vw
drive train and just
make up new axles and completelly new mounts. The weight difference of a td
jetta and a
mini van is 600lbs, so with a little stripping down i should be able to come
close in weight.

just a note, I have not heard of the cummins 3.9 getting 40 mpg or i would
consider
a slightly larger vehicle to work and travel in. If you watch any of the
tour the france
you notice as always the cars are all smaller than ours which is no
surprise, the thing i found
interesting where the smaller cab over rv's, nothing like that in the states
so i am looking for any thoughts on this vw/minivan transplant. thanks, ray
