[Vwdiesel] noisey exhaust

The new exhaust donut I just installed with my new head gasket is leaking.
The old one was a woven steel wire and some type of fabric and wasn't leaking.
The new and supposed to be improved one seemed to be steel but leaks bad.
Any experience or advice?  the head gasket job seems to be doing good,
no excess pressure and a steady stream of water into the resevior,
nice..  Now to get it quiet.
