I've used it, and I think the poster is correct.  The first number is the 
"cold" viscosity, the second is the "hot" viscosity, so once hot it behaves the 
same as the 15W-40, but cold starts are better.  With Dino oils, the 
multi-grade is achieved at the cost of lubricity.  I do not believe that is the case 
with synth.
