The AMSOIL flush is a good product but with the mileage on the engine it
will not clean up what needs to be cleaned up such as possible stuck rings.
I myself would go with using Auto-RX. It is a great product that I have had
great success with using it in my gas vehicles. I did a complete rebuild on
my 91 Jetta so I didn't need it for my diesel. I have an extra bottle of
the Auto-Rx and if you would like I can send it to you. It cost me $25 for
the bottle but if you really want to try it and will follow the direction on
the Auto-RX web site I can send it to you. Just let me know. It works over
time and you run it for 2k miles. If you think about it, your engine didn't
get dirty in just 30 minutes like most flushes work but it got dirty over
time. Auto-RX works over time and slowly dissolves engine deposits,
liquefying them and letting the oil filter do its job and collecting it.

I noticed a big difference in my oil analysis results in my vehicles after I
ran a treatment of Auto-RX. All my wear metals were reduced significantly. I
take regular oil samples so I have a history to go by and after that
treatment there was a considerable change for the better so that tells me
the product does something and it was a good thing.

Again the AMSOIL oil flush does a good job in the 30 minutes of high idle
time it spends in the crank case but it will not really clean up the engine
like Auto-RX (ARX). After running ARX, and then switching over to synthetic
the synthetic oil will not have to work so hard inside the engine cleaning
up what it normally would if you didn't run the ARX. That is a plus as well.
It gives the synthetic a chance to work as a lubricant and not have to clean
as much as needed before. It also is a plus for turbos since its clean
action is based on engine operating temperature. It works best on an engine
that is up to full operating temp and since the turbo is one that has a
higher degree of heat to it that area would benefit the most from the
cleaning process. It also helps to recondition seals. There is a separate
procedure for that as well on the ARX web site.
