Subject: [Vwdiesel] Vacuum Pump Specs
Greetings,
I just joined the list after almost 10 years on the Quattro list.
The patient is a '91 Jetta 1.6 N/A
Vacuum pump averages 25-28 in. Hg, and the front brakes are dragging.
Replaced Master, front hoses, and finally the booster, and it still seems
to be an issue.
I rigged up a bleed valve in-line to take it down to 22 in Hg,, but at wide
open highway, it still creeps up to 25-26.
Does anyone have the correct specs for the vacuum pump?
Could the pump be over-boosting? Is there a check or bleed valve on the
pump that could be stuck?
P.S. How does one search the vwfans archives?
Best regards,
Mark
