924, 944 or 968.  924 were originally built from the VWAG partsbox, and used an Audi 100LS engine and trans with a new cylinder head and simply put a long shaft between the engine and trans - allowing for the engine to be layed over to the right a bunch more without changing the bolt pattern on either part (the driveshaft housing is out of phase).  Audi kept the same bolt pattern, as did Porsche for its 924 derivatives.
