[Vwdiesel] Soot problem

  Could be a/some slightly bad injector/s, a bit of overfueling or 
aerodynamics, residue on the paint etc.  I'd check out the injectors 
first.  Watch your mirror before and after (if any changes are made). 
You should be able to see some smoke when hitting the throttle hard 
currently.  Driving somewhat softer might fix the symptom but the 
soot accumulation is most likely ONLY the symptom rather than 
the problem.
