[Vwdiesel] Old 1.6NA in New body?

Hi Will,

Thanks for the response. Is the 94 body the same series as 96? Are the
motor/tranny mounts in the same position as the 85/86? Were the half shafts
compatable between the old tranny and newer hubs? Is the 96 gas throttle
"drive by wire"?

I am not totally against sluggish, I am driving a '83 Mercedes 240D for the
summer (while I am converting it to veggie oil) that belongs to a friend.
It's only 65HP in the same body as the more common 300D or 300TD.

Is the tightness on the pass side due to the Turbo or is the old engine just
larger than the newer engines? Remember, my engine is non-turbo.

Thanks,

Ron Schroeder
