On this subject of resurfacing a head due to being warped. I understand you
want a flat surface. But looking at it realistically, just the surface of
the head doesn't warp. The entire head warps. Thus there goes the true
alignment of the cam in the head saddles. Now it isn't a true fit anymore.
One machine shop I talked to, can't remember which one it was, said that
they take the head and actually heat it up and straighten it to get the warp
out of it.  I know it sounds crazy but that is what they told me.  It kind
of makes sense really, I guess a way to know for sure is check all your
clearances on the cam saddles and if you ever get cursed by a warped head
then take new measurements and see what the difference is.
