No no.
SERVE with sauerkraut. All you need is to season to taste.  Enough oil 
is in the casting that is is self basting, and the cabbage, while 
complimentary to the dish, would wind up overcooked.  It's best cooked 
separately with some red cabbage and caraway seed.
