  New Golf on the fairway???
  I went to Olympia yesterday with Dad to pick up a "new" Golf TDi, 
basically for Mom.  '02, 53k miles, silver 4 door with automatic.  Yeah, 
I know but the one time he let her drive the Passat she'd stay in second 
at 45 mph or better or be in 4th at 20mph so he figured an automatic was 
teh safest way to go for her.  Only disagreealbe aspect to the auto is it 
likes to shift down too easily.  Otherwise it's not slushy and shifts well.  
PO claims about 40mpg, wel'll see how it does.
  After a lot of "we don't need this" from her, to the point Dad almost 
called to back out of the deal, she loves the car!  :-)
  Just fun to tell about the new find!  Car looks like new too!
