[Vwdiesel] Get more speed and power with a zip-tie!

That is what I discovered yesterday.
I was hurrying along trying to get to the Interstate
Battery outlet store because I needed three batteries
and you can get any car battery for only $25. But I
barely got off work in time to be able to drive there
before they closed.
So, I am racing down the highway as fast as the diesel
cabby pulling a canoe on a trailer could go when all
of a sudden I get a considerable drop in power.
All life signs looked good (oil pressure, etc) and
there was no smoke or signs of anything leaking, plus
the accelerator cable felt a little funny, so I kept
going.
After picking up my batteries, I discovered that the
clip that holds the cable in adjustment had allowed it
to move, so even though I had it floored in the car,
in effect it wasn't.
With the help of a zip-tie from my parent's garage, I
was home free.
Check your accelerator cable's adjustment. If it is
too loose, you won't be able to go as fast as you
otherwise could.
