I'd had similar experience with the Parts Place.  I quit dealing with 
them years ago mainly due to sloppiness in filling orders, though they 
weren't cooperative in fixing the problems.  On the other hand, it was 
ten years ago.  Maybe they've gotten better since then.  I will, 
however, let someone else find out first.  I'm pretty happy with my 
current parts sourcing regimene and I have a special talent for holding 
grudges.

I agree with James.  I try and get my parts from sources that are 
supportive of this list community or from a local VW independent. Money 
votes and I have the dubious honor of voting pretty often.
