[Vwdiesel] smoke/stumbling on startup

Maybe someone can give some clues to what might be going on with my '81 Caddy...I just put it 
back together after re-ringing and a valve job, and it smokes a ton of blue smoke until it gets 
hot, esp. when revving the engine. Idles OK, and starts fine. But when you increase RPMs to 
about 1500, it stumbles/misses, and smokes blue until warm. When it gets fully warm, it runs 
fine, doesn't smoke, decent power.

Engine has 153k, glow plugs are new. I just rebuilt injectors, inj. pump is from another vehicle 
that was running fine on it. No air in fuel lines. Cam timing is right on, inj. timing is at 
1.0mm (retarding slightly doesn't help). No blowby from valve cover cap. Compression is 
375,435,435,390b cold.
