right, it will take full oil pressure to really pump them up but the
motor should still start with them as they are. it should not affect
compression, because the valves will just be closed for more of the
time. only intake and exhaust flow rate will be reduced, which doesn't
really matter at idle. make sure glowplugs and pump timing are all OK;
it should theoretically fire off no problem. it will be loud and might
be gutless at higher revs until the lifters pump up.
