pouring in lots of tig rod also helps. alloying ingredients or
something. maybe the science geniuises know why.
Also, don't go too hot on your first pass, especially if there is oil on
one side. you can always use silver solder too.
Many auto castings are alloyed with magnesium too, and that can make
things a bit weirder. Put a slice of magnesium next to your Al tig rod,
and fill er up.
