  Not sure which model MIGHT use the same inst. light dimmer.  
Maybe a Quantum?  I think it's a turny knob on the left edge of 
the cluster or am I thinking of my Quattro?
  Usually you can wheel it back and forth a few times and get it to 
make contact at some point, at least a flicker.  Sometimes they're 
totally shot and won't even make a flicker but it's worth a try.  Cluster's 
not too bad to pull from what I recall.  It's been a few years since I 
played with my '83.
