[Vwdiesel] [Audi-VW-Diesels] What's this part on my '84 Quantum TD?

Took me a few moments to dust off the cobwebs...
This linkage connects the throttle lever to the cruise control
solenoid(or should) Solenoid is not the right word either. More like a
rubber bulb that collapses with vacuum... pulling on the throttle. The
vacuum comes from a special cruise control pump, not engine vacuum.
It is a sliding linkage. This allows you to add to the throttle input
when the cruise is active, without distorting the vacuum bulb.
