  I've seen 1,000 miles, 1,000km and 600 miles stated in various 
places.  I've come to believe the 1,000km/600 mile figure to be the 
correct one.  I've lost a head gasket between the 600 and 1,000 
mile mark with no real cause that I knew of.  :-(
