[Vwdiesel] Any Oil Analysis for xW-30 in a Rabbit?

Hi guys,
I know that it is generally understood that running a xW-30
oil in a diesel Rabbit in warm weather is bad. xW-40's are
universally accepted, and some people even run xW-50. I live in Iowa,
and when I changed my oil last fall for the oncoming winter, I changed
from Rotella 15w-40 to Rotella 10w-30. When I did my first oil change
this spring, I decided to gamble a little bit and replace it with
another round of Rotella 10w-30. What has been most interesting is to
find out that my oil pressure is still sufficient. Over 2000 RPMs, I
still have more than 29psi of pressure. As such, I'm meeting the oil
pressure requirements set by VW for flowing oil through the system.
Since it is flow that lubricates, it would seem that the 10w-30 is
working fine in my system. Now, please understand, I'm not trying to
open a can of worms here. Specifically, I'm wondering if anybody on
the list has ever run an xW-30 in their Rabbit/Golf (during warmer
months) and then had an oil analysis done? I'm going to have one done
on this oil when I change it out in a few weeks. But I would be very
interested in seeing the analysis of others'.

Thanks,
Bryan
