[Vwdiesel] Troubleshooting help needed - IP changeout

Wouldn't WD40 be a safer bet than starting fluid?  It works great on 2
cycles.

  Starting fluid won't work at all if the glow plugs are working 
whatsoever (in my experience anyway).  My 6.2 van would only 
require the smallest squirt to start instantly while the glow plug 
were disconnected.  (alt wasn't charging and those gp coltrollers 
keep the plugs on longer the lower the voltage, up to stay on 
full time!)
