  Well, they never had it BEFORE.  It's a nice idea but is it worth 
risking DOA at any time on the side of the road (which is what 
happened to Dad) for the convenience of avoiding a few possible 
days of freeze up as you leave the house?  It's never really been 
a problem for us in the past even when it DOES get really cold 
here.  A little gas, a little #1 to a winter mix and never a problem.
We contemplated the heated fuel option being lost when he 
bypassed it and decided it was worth it considering a few 
decades with freeze up times being minimal.  Just plan for it 
and it's not a problem.  :-)
  Most things you gain you give up something.  (Except when 
getting more power out of your diesel!)   :-D
