At least you have oil pressure. I'm running zero at operating temp and 18
cold start up, this is taken from the head port.

As for boost, I can max my boost past 20psi when I adjusted the turbo waste
gate. I run it now no more than 15psi max and that is if I'm on it hard. It
doesn't take long for the engine temp gage to move up either so I keep boost
down to the 10 -12 range as much as I can on acceleration. What really woke
up my boost is opening up the exhaust with the 2.5" turbo down pipe and
entire exhaust system. I also need to adjust my pump, I'm still getting a
good bit of black smoke at WOT. No sense in wasting all that fuel. :)

You actually get oil pressure when you have the right
amount of oil in the pan. Once I found the specs for
the amount of oil for the 1V motor or 91-95 motors, it
was 4.7 qts. I had only put in 4.

I got 2 of my gauges running last night, oil psi and
boost, with lights so I can see them at night!!

So, oil pressure is at 60psi cold and 25 to 30 going
65mph, 7-10 at idle, but not low enough to set off the
warning light anymore.

Boost is around 8 to 10 psi for this K14 turbo, is
this a good number? I am not hammering it, this is at
3K rpm top of shift range.

*** Vacuum line T for boost gauge....
Note, I ended up going to a VW dealer to get the
barbed 1/8th inch T that I needed to hook in my 1/8
inch plastic tube for boost gauge, between the intake
manifold and aneroid. .57 cents, I can do that. I
just asked them to show me what T's they had for
vacuum lines, nice hard plastic T. I could only find
1/4 inch T elsewhere. The other option was a big
clumsy brass plumbing T with compression fittings, I
did not want to go that way.

Where is everyone, on Vacation.
