This is my first reply to the group, but I read most of the mails. I live in Mexico and have a 1982 VW Rabbit with a diesel engine. I make some biodiesel just for fun, no big batches, no commercial. Fuels in Mexico have fixed prices and PEMEX, an oil industry owned by the state, has the monopoly of the fuel industry. Said this, december price for diesel is $1.96 per US Gallon (aprox according to exchange rate 11.00 pesos per dollar).

Here in Mexico, Rabbits are called Caribe and we are a quite large community http://groups.msn.com/clubdelvwcaribe, but as far as I know, I am the only one owner of a diesel one.
