Doug,
I bet you have a leaking injector line. I doubt that it has anything to
do with your pump. If it wasn't leaking before you replaced lines/hoses-
it isn't leaking now. Take off the injector line group and check each
end with a magnifying glass for nicks or cracks. You may just not have
the tapered ends up flush with the pump outlets. Always get the line
butted-up to the pump/injector nipples before you tighten the nuts. Be
sure that all the little line support clamps are in place on your fuel
rail also. If you determine that you have a leaky fuel rail LMK- I have
spares.

Subject: [Vwdiesel] Injection Pump Leak

After removing and re-installing injection lines related to other work,
I have now created a one drop per second leak coming from the seam
separating the main body of the injection pump with the portion that
houses the cut-off solenoid and the injection lines. I tried snugging
the 5 small bolts at the outer surface where the injection lines are
attached, but it did not change the leak rate. Is there a gasket that
can be replaced in this area or have I caused a larger problem. If
there is a gasket, what would it be called and where would be a good
location to purchase one? Thanks for any help.
