[Vwdiesel] Looking for an engine...

Hey Brian,
A diesel 'rocco would be nice, but there's the fact that you're all the
way over on the opposite end of the country from me; pretty much
diametrically opposed, as I'm in South Carolina. Unless by "Western
Washington" you mean "Western DC" area, then it's much closer (obviously!).
Part of the reason for the KG conversion is that we have a '73 Super
Beetle already, and the guy offering the KG (Needs engine, some brake
refreshing work, and the dings pulled out of the rear quarter panel) is
willing to trade the KG for "something that isn't a KG"; we're talking
trading the SB for the KG, for no net gain of miscellaneous car in the yard.
Now, I could quite readily be swayed into doing some other conversion;
I've homed in on a couple Volvo wagons (I'm a wagon guy myself, pity
there aren't any diesel Quantae in my price range out there right now)
and sourced a few of the D24 6-cylinders that I could drop in, but I'd
have to find something to do to get rid of that SB before I'd be allowed
to do it (Parents/landlords made that a condition of the deal).
Of course, non-wagon conversion are also a possibility! I just happen to
be biased towards station wagons for their ultimate utility.
