  A stupid thing happened to me the other day with studded 
tires.  Got a flat, tires are several years old but still 80% or 
better tread.  Took it in for the free flat repair.  It was one of 
the studs that poked in and caused the leak!  I asked about 
just popping the rest out to prevent any more doing it.  He said 
some of them might already be but just aren't leaking yet.  :-P
  That's REALLY annoying to know!
