[Vwdiesel] "new" car suggestions

hi Loren,

the first modification i did on my mk4 tdi was swap the nozzle on the injector.

1. it brought the engine to european spec so 20hp increase and close 40lb
this also increases mileage because the burn cycles is extended and more fuel is burned. its a very safe mod and this is the only difference between NA and European TDi engines.

2. retuning your ecu will give great hp/tq gains. i am at a point that i have to change my clutch to the vr6 style and the g60 flywheel in order to accomodate the power or else there is slippage. the fellow who tuned my car increase the powerband so i do not get all the tq at low end but after the clutch swap - WATCH OUT. i am presently running 18 lb of boost in the summer and slightly higher during the winter on the stock IC. the main problem with these improvemtns is that brakes and suspension has to be improved as well. I am slowly getting there.

btw, the ecu tuning can also increase mileage by another 5% when driven normally by my wife but i just have to floor it. when the hits 2500rpm it does not stop climbing fast after that.

it is only fair to mention that this is the safest upgrades the engine can handle.

my next mod will be to install ARP head studs. a lot of people have gained further mileage gains by replacing the stock stretch botls.

there is tons of this information on the tdiclub.com

hope this helps.

Didn't for me. When bigger exhaust went on my Rabbit it gained
an mpg or two (2% to 5%) but gained high end and acceleration.
Dad's pu really didn't gain any mileage but gained low end.
What are the .205 injectors, thier application/s part numbers
and all that?
     Loren
