[Vwdiesel] was removing ignition switch, now dim headlights

  I totally agree with Nick's recommendation of checking 
the grounds (and do a V drop from the battery to the lights 
while they're on too.)  The lights on the Audi (4 light round?)
aren't any searchlights by any means and my 4 small, 
rectangular lights seemed to be even worse.  Some Halogens 
might be in order but do check other stuff and it'd be REAL 
smart to relay those halogens for less draw on the switch and 
better power to them.
