The only thing about powder coating rims is that you
need to watch the area that the lug bolts contact the
rims.
I know a guy who owns an old VW bus. He had his rims
powdercoated. One day while driving, the front right
wheel came off!
Turned out that what had happened is that the
powdercoating that is underneath the lugbolts had
crumbled when the bolt was tightened down. Basically,
the bolt crushed the powdercoating.
So, it is a good idea to either prevent the
powdercoating from getting on the lug bolt seats or at
least check them several times after installing.
