Sorry, I have to object to at least one of those statements. We run 
Cummins ISB series common rail engines at work, transit system; they're 
horrifically unreliable and finicky things. Nowhere near as reliable as 
the older pump-injected engines, and because of computer issues they 
tend to smoke quite a bit and have some pretty noxious exhaust. 
Reliability? Durability? What are those?

Cummins needs to get their act together if they want to stay "on top" of 
the heavy duty diesel market. This BS with the common rail problems has 
to stop.

I will hand them this one, though. Those bus diesels are /quiet/ 
compared to similarly sized engines, even gas ones!
