  27mm is the "same" as a 1 1/16" socket.  I don't have a 27mm 
either.  I wouldn't mess with the injectors.  You run more risk of 
crudding up the spray pattern than helping it.  Not high odds mind 
you but you're not likely to help anything by cleaning the ends off 
either.  Rinsing with carb cleaner sure won't hurt anything.  It's 
when one starts scraping etc that problems can happen.

  You ARE checking compression cold, on a newly assembled 
engine that's been sitting.  There's a REALLY good chance 
compression will go up once it's started.  Too cheap a 
compression gauge will never give a high enough (correct) 
reading because the hose is too large.  Makes for too large of 
a combustion chamber in effect.
