Sounds like glow plug problem (No glow, no go) White smoke is unburned fuel,
so the fuel is flowing.
Best way to get it going with many small issues hounding you is to tow it,
in 4th gear ONLY, until it starts. This will even start it with dead glow
plugs, and re-oils the cylinder walls if you have washed them down with
fruitless cranking.
25-30 mph for as far as it takes
If you have been boosting it with a running vehicle, you may have burned out
the plugs.
Been there, done that, theyare rated at 11 volts.
Also, I have experience that sugests something happens to pluggs that have
sat in an engine for a long time, that causes them to fail quickly when used
again.
