Finally got the "hole" cut in the battery tray. Thought I could use a die grinder/cutter but my air compressor could not provide enough CFM to run them so got my jig saw to do it. Sure helps to handle the water heater hose. Had some old PCV pipe connector to use plus some heater hose. The hose was only soft & rotten about 3 inches from the engine connection. I have a Stat cooling system pressure tester but no connection to the Dasher's plastic coolant header tank, so I clamped some old radiator hose between where the "tank radiator cap" screws on & one end of a metal cylinder Stat provides to test whether radiator caps are working. Pumped it up to 14 pounds & no coolant leaking, but there is a slow leak somewhere, either in the header tank or the contraption I cobbled together. Will check with soapy water tomorrow or when I can find some time. So I have some questions?
What pressure is my Dasher diesel's cooling system supposed to maintain? Does the Screw on plastic "radiator cap" maintain the pressure or is there a pressure release valve somewhere else in the system? How would I test the plastic "radiator cap" to see if is working OK?
After finishing this, I will see if I can get it started. Since it ran before I replaced the head gasket & installed the 12mm studs, I don't see why it shouldn't run now. What is the best way to see if the injectors are getting fuel? Loosen the injector pipes a little?
