Hey, join the club. I was on my way out of town few
summers ago to see a Rush show 140 miles away. The
day before I did some rear brake work on my Audi 200
with disc brakes in rear as well. I put the one back
in the wrong way. I drove about 6 miles before
pulling over. Jacked the car up, took the caliper
off, swapped the pad around and put it back together.
I didn't even bother going back home, easy fix, no
issues ever since.
You are not driving a race car, just a VW.
