[Vwdiesel] How good can it get ??????

Hi Folks:
	I have had quite a few 1.6 N/A VW diesels. Rabbits, Rabbit pickups
and Dashers and I never have had one until now that is a consistent 50 mpg
rig. My 81 Dasher station wagon that I just finished putting together with a
1.6 N/A and a 5 speed tranny keeps on doing that consistently. I went to
Portland OR yesterday to Halsey automotive (a great place to buy Vdub parts)
and hit some stop and go traffic but even with that the nearly 300 miles I
had on this tank of fuel netted me 53.45 mpg. Now that I am seeing such
great mileage I want more and tomorrow a friend of mine will be helping me
install an Audio-Vox cruise control. I have used them before once on a
Rabbit gas pickup and once on a Rabbit turbo diesel pickup. They work really
well on those long freeway drives. I'm going to go to Abbotsford BC next
Saturday and will have about a 450 mile round trip of mostly freeway and I
hope to see the high side of 55 mpg.
