Maybe this deserves a new thread label.
The IP on my 85 TD Jetta has leaked slightly for years, from the rubber
drip nozzle on the aneroid module, and it deserves those 2 new check
valves, just to see the leak will change.

The only Bentley service manual handy is for the 77-84 Jetta Diesels. My
manual for the 85 TD is in a storage shed 12 miles away, with all my
belongings, during a re-carpeting of the living room (from which I may
never recover.)

I know about the big water separator/filter on the firewall, but WHERE are
those "2 stupid little cheap plastic check valves? Can I assume they are
in the return line?

Yes
No

To facilitate your reply, don't type anything, Sandy. Just highlight the
general area below, copy from my post, and paste as your answer:

engine compartment
under the car
back near the fuel tank

I suppose they look like:

peanuts
acorns
lipstick tubes
something else
Leprechaun gold pouches
