[Vwdiesel] Compression Test Results :-(

I've read that a low reading can be because of valve leakage.  What
causes valve leakage?  Would adjusting my valves fix that?  I've not
looked into that yet.

Yes valve leakage can cause it but since the compression increased
significantly when you put oil in the cylinders then the rings are the main
problem. The oil sealed the rings. How long has it been since you adjusted
the valves? It is an 84 model correct?
