[Vwdiesel] TD IP drip workaround

The injector pump on my 85 Jetta TD has been dripping fuel from the rubber
snout on the enrichment module.
PAST HISTORY: The drip appeared about 5 years ago and I cured it totally
with ATF. About two years later it came back, and I cured it with another
course of ATF administered through the fuel....a quart of ATF in a tank of
diesel. The cured lasted another two years, and the drip is back again. The
quart of ATF in the fuel has only slowed it down this time. It drips one
drop per second at idle.
The workaround I have in mind is to extend the snout on the enrichment
module ....long enough to reach a one-quart container at a lower level, and
just let the drip accumulate until the container is full. Then I would
filter and recycle the fuel. I would probably have to do this every few
days. I figure about 20 drops per milliliter or 20,000 drops per liter. at
one drop per second, that lets me run 20,000 seconds between
emptyings.....every 5.5 hours.
That is about once a week the way I drive.
So, whadayathink? Any major downside that risks life or property?
