[Vwdiesel] 1.6 head on 1.5 block?

I'm sure I've asked this before, but can't find the emails, so here goes again...

I have what I believe to be a good 1.5 block with 2nd O/S pistons that look nearly new, but 
the head looks pretty rough, with deep scratches. Is there any way to make a 1.6 mechanical 
head work on a 1.5 block, or are there too many differences in oil holes, etc?

I'm still pondering options for the tired, leaky old 1.6NA in my Jetta.
