Due to the location of the timing belt and motor mounts (you have to
pull a mount to get to the belt), you have to buy more parts than you'd
think. I know--I spent a year sulking, replacing all of those parts,
breaking the engine, sulking again, and replacing the parts again. Some
vendors do sell a complete kit. I should mention that one of those kits
is supplied by www.tdiparts.com (specifically
http://www.tdiparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=29_74&products_id=449
<http://www.tdiparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=29_74&products_id=449>)
for $275. That website was founded by Dan Simones who also founded and
hosts this list, so I like to recommend his site every now and then.
Oh, and those stretch bolts, very important. See the breaking engine,
sulking, replacing parts again bit.
