I didn't know about the dial indicator option.  I did it the way Bentley 
describes.  Sort of wish I'd known and had the specs.  I spent a lot of 
time fighting it to get it close enough to call it timed. 

Until Handen was generous enough to let me use some of his timing tools, 
I locked the pump with the shank of an appropriate diamter drill bit.
