[Vwdiesel] Rear spring replacement

I just jack up the body till they're fully decompressed, unbolt the bottom
first then the top and they fall right out. To install I bolt up the top
and use another jack to raise the Axel Beam to bolt up the bottom. Pretty
easy, no Spring Compressor.

Subject: [Vwdiesel] Rear spring replacement

Hi all
My rear springs are getting weaker and weaker (lower), I was always told
you need a special
spring compession device, but I was at a local wrecking yard, and noticed
how farthe rear
joints pivot, and the springs and shocks were removed on a couple of the
volks.
Is that a trick to replace them?
Having the car on the ground, unbolting the top, and then jacking up the
car till they decompress then just slipping them out/off ?
  Thanks Paul
