It's coil over springs that are part of the rear shock as a unit.
They come off but when you pull them from the car it will be
shock and spring all as one. Then it's not a LOT of pressure to
compress the spring to release the clip and remove.
Since you're doing new springs, it makes sense to do new shocks
and you might get them as uints already.
A spare tire and wheel can be used to press down the spring and
retainer to then remove the keeper and clip/spring-wire.
On reassembly you MUST make shre the keeper slips over the
clip/wire before you release pressure to it or the wire will slide up
the shock and lose spring tension.
