[Vwdiesel] Head gasket thickness

You don't want to shave the head if you can avoid it.
You will only know once it's off and you can measure the flatness.

If it is out of spec, find a place that does head 'straightening'...
They bolt the head to a fixture with necessary shimming, heat it up in
an oven, and then let it cool slowly. Only then shaving if needed. This
way, it maintains the cam bores' alignment.
